Guest Bloggers and Adding Diversity to Wildflower Design Patterns

Since launching my 1st sewing pattern (the Coquelicot skirt) just over a month ago, I am so happy for everyone's support and the excitement of the pattern. When I started with the idea of having my own pattern company, I knew from the beginning that I wanted to create patterns that would fit into a wide variety of sizes, rather than be limited to simply 0-20. It just didn't seem right to me that the largest size be cut off at a 48" hip.

As a straight-sized, white sewist myself, I do not add any diversity to my website or social media. I think it is very important to be able to represent people that can fit onto each size on my size chart, and also show diversity by featuring BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled, over 50 etc. makers.

That's why I have decided to start hiring guest bloggers!

What is needed from a guest blogger?

  • Review of the pattern (Currently the Coquelicot Skirt) in a blog post, where you will introduce yourself, share your honest opinion on the pattern, details of fabric choices, modifications, pattern hacks etc.

  • 5-10 modelled photographs

  • Additional photographs of construction etc. optional

  • Genuinely enthusiastic about Wildflower Design Patterns as a brand

  • Consent for Wildflower Design to use your photos on their website, blog and social media

  • You will be required to sew, photograph and write up your blog post in 3 weeks time

What Guest bloggers will receive:

  • Free copy of the Coquelicot skirt pattern

  • Payment of $60 CAD (If you have already purchased the pattern you will receive $76 CAD as payment instead)

  • Mention to your social media, blog etc.

Since I am brand new designer and business owner, I will be hiring one at a time, and hire more when my budget allows. I encourage you to sign up if you are interested, and if you are not selected right away, you may be selected at a later date.
